Woodward 8440-1800 is the EASYGEN-320-50B/X controller in the easYgen-300 family. It is designed for automatic starting and stopping of a diesel generator set, generator metering, engine monitoring, alarm handling and generator protection in single-unit isolated or standby applications.
The 320/X version operates the generator circuit breaker (GCB) and manages the start/stop sequence, including pre-glow, fuel and crank functions. It is not the easYgen-350/X transfer-switch model: automatic mains-failure and mains circuit-breaker control belong to the 350/X variant and must not be assumed for part number 8440-1800.
Generator voltage is measured as true RMS and can be configured for 1-phase 2-wire, 1-phase 3-wire, 3-phase 3-wire or 3-phase 4-wire systems. The documented measuring class is 277/480 VAC rated and 346/600 VAC maximum, with generator frequency measurement from 15 to 85 Hz and Class 1 accuracy.
