The GE IS200VTURH1BAC is a Turbine Specific Primary Trip Board used in the Mark VI control system. Its functions include turbine speed measurement, primary overspeed protection, generator synchronization, shaft voltage and current monitoring, and primary trip relay control. Four passive pulse-rate devices monitor turbine rotational speed and transmit speed information to the controller. When an overspeed condition is detected, the controller generates a primary trip signal that passes through VTUR to the applicable trip terminal board, allowing the trip system to activate the turbine's electrical trip devices.

Turbine Speed Measurement: Four passive pulse-rate devices measure shaft speed. The documented MPU pulse-rate range is 2 Hz to 20 kHz, with 0.05% of reading accuracy and 27 mV pk input-circuit sensitivity.
Primary Overspeed Protection: The controller evaluates turbine speed and generates a primary overspeed trip when required. The trip signal is transmitted through VTUR to the primary trip terminal board.
Generator Synchronization: The board participates in automatic generator synchronization by matching generator phase, frequency, and voltage before paralleling. After synchronization, the main breaker can be closed.
Shaft Monitoring: The page identifies induced shaft-voltage and shaft-current monitoring as VTUR functions.
