The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements. The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems.

Safety Configuration Tips

Because this probe has a 05 explosion-proof certification, if your site is indeed an explosion-proof hazardous area, when setting up or replacing the system, the matching proximitor sensor and extension cable must also be selected with explosion-proof certification (usually suffixed as -05), and may require the use of safety barriers to ensure the entire loop meets explosion-proof compliance requirements.

Installation Clearance and Interference Prevention

Counter-hole Diameter (Mounting Hole Countersunk Requirements): If the probe needs to be recessed into the mounting hole, the countersunk diameter must be at least 25.4 mm (1.0 inch).

Side Clearance: Within an 8 mm radius around the plastic end of the probe head, there must be no metal objects other than the measured axis.

Min. Tip-to-Tip Spacing: If two probes are mounted opposite each other on the same journal (e.g., for X-Y axis vibration), the distance between the two probe heads must be at least 40 mm (1.6 inches), otherwise severe signal crosstalk will occur.
