Honeywell FC-DCOM-232/485 is the Safety Manager communication field termination assembly for RS-232 and RS-422/485 serial connections. It provides the external wiring interface used by supported controller communication hardware.
The RS-232 path supports rates from 0 to 250 kBaud, while the RS-422/485 path supports rates up to 2 MBaud with transparent, FMO, FM1 or Manchester-coded operation as documented.
FC-DCOM-232/485 operates from 5 VDC +/-5% at up to 500 mA and mounts on TS32 or TS35 x 7.5 DIN rail. Its module body measures 110 x 70 x 61 mm and uses 117 mm of rail length.
Verify the selected serial standard, line termination, baud rate, modulation, controller communication unit, redundant arrangement and cable shielding before commissioning.

Honeywell FC-DCOM-232/485 converts the Safety Manager controller communication connection into field-accessible RS-232 and RS-422/485 interfaces.
Honeywell FC-DCOM-232/485 is used for serial links to approved external systems, devices or Safety Manager communication networks.
Honeywell specifies 0-250 kBaud for RS-232, 0-2 MBaud for RS-422/485 and 5 VDC +/-5% input at 500 mA maximum.
Honeywell FC-DCOM-232/485 is driven by the approved Universal Communication Unit arrangement; protocol, modulation and redundancy must match the project design.
