Woodward 9907-028 is a standard SPM-A synchronizer for bringing an off-line generator into phase and frequency agreement with an energized bus. Woodward 9907-028 issues speed-bias commands to the prime-mover control and enables breaker closure when the programmed synchronizing conditions are satisfied.
This version operates at 50/60 Hz with a ±10° phase-angle window and does not include automatic voltage matching. The synchronizer compares conditioned generator and bus voltage signals, determines relative phase and frequency, and drives the speed correction needed to approach the closure window.
Woodward 9907-028 supports OFF, RUN, CHECK, and PERMISSIVE operating modes. CHECK allows the synchronizing logic and speed bias to be observed without a breaker closure command, while PERMISSIVE can be used as part of a supervisory synchronizing arrangement.
