Woodward 9907-029 is an SPM-A synchronizer that aligns an off-line generator with the bus before breaker closure. In addition to phase and frequency correction, Woodward 9907-029 provides a voltage-matching function so generator voltage can be brought within the required window.
The 50/60 Hz unit uses a ±10° phase-angle specification and a 1% voltage-matching option. Separate bus and generator inputs are conditioned for accurate comparison, while speed-bias and voltage-bias outputs act through compatible governing and excitation equipment.
Four operating modes—OFF, RUN, CHECK, and PERMISSIVE—support commissioning and operating strategies. CHECK mode permits synchronization and voltage matching without issuing the breaker close signal, providing a practical way to confirm system response during setup.
