Key point: PAOC, PDOA and YDIA may share the same physical product style, but they are not interchangeable. Their function, terminal board, configured signal and system family are different.

What GE's current platform information supports

GE Vernova describes Mark VIe as the standard controls platform for new units and states that processors, I/O Packs, switches and HMI hardware can be updated as separate system components. ControlST is the shared configuration and diagnostic environment.

Practical takeaway: the platform family identifies the direction of the architecture, not a universal drop-in replacement. Approve a spare only after its I/O role, terminal board and configured software baseline have been checked against the running unit.
