Lateral Metal Interference Limitation: Absolutely no non-test target metal (such as bearing housing edges or mounting brackets) should be present within a 15.2 mm (0.6 inch) diameter circumference around the probe head. Interference will distort the magnetic field, directly causing severe distortion of the measured voltage or displacement.
Standard Calibration Block: All official electrical specifications are calibrated based on an AISI 4140 steel (standard carbon steel) target disc. If the shaft material being measured on-site is 45# steel, stainless steel, or chrome-plated, a preamplifier calibrated with special materials must be used; otherwise, on-site recalibration is required.
