The 990 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as the input to their machinery control system. The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5 m and 7 m system length options).

|
Power |
Requires +12 to +35 Vdc input at the transmitter terminal |
|
Maximum Loop Resistance |
1,000 Ω including cable at 35 Vdc |
|
Current Limiting |
23 mA typical |
|
Output Impedance |
Prox Out has a 10 kΩ output impedance calibrated for a 10 MΩ load |
|
Prox out linear range |
1.4 mm (55 mils). Begins at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from target surface |
|
Prox Out incremental scale factor |
7.87 mV/µm (200 mV/mil) ±6.5% typical including interchangeability errors when measured in increments of 0.25 mm (10 mils) over the linear range using a flat 30 mm (1.2 inch) target. Worst case 7.87 mV/µm ±10%. Typical Noise Level: 50 mV/pp |
|
4 to 20 mA loop accuracy |
Within ±1.5% over specified fullscale range. Accuracy is rated from the TEST signal input to the voltage measured across a 250 Ω loop resistance. The ±1.5% error is in addition to the Prox Out Incremental Scale Factor |
|
4 to 20 mA signal output |
4 to 20 mAdc over specified fullscale range in 2-wire configuration |
|
Zero and span |
Non-interacting external adjustments |
|
NOT OK/signal defeat |
Signal output will go to less than 3.6 mA within 100 µs after a Not OK condition occurs. Signal output is restored within 2-3 seconds after the Not OK condition is removed |
Feature
Integrated Proximitor Sensor requires no external unit
Non-isolated PROX OUT and COM terminals plus a coaxial connector to provide a dynamic vibration and gap voltage signal output for diagnostics
Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers under the Transmitter label supports loop adjustment
Test Input pin for quick verification of loop signal output, using a function generator as the input
A Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents high outputs or false alarms due to a faulty proximity probe or loose connection
On-site Maintenance Notes
Carefully Verify Total Cable Length and Probe Series: Since this is MOD 167577-07, technicians must verify the probe nameplate (e.g., 3300 XL series or other special series) and total cable length embedded in the bearing housing on-site.
PROX OUT Diagnostic Signal Phase Reminder: Following Bentley's general technical practice for MOD customized models, the PROX OUT dynamic signal phase of these specially tuned models is typically opposite to that of the standard product. If you are connecting a portable data acquisition unit for spectrum analysis on-site, it is recommended to use an isolation test adapter to prevent grounding conflicts with the two-wire circuit, which could lead to false alarms in the downstream DCS.
Technical FAQ
Q: Have the basic electrical characteristics of the 990-05-XX-01-00 MOD: 167577-07 transmitter changed?
A: No. It still uses 2-wire loop power (+12 Vdc to +35 Vdc), provides a 4–20 mA output, and includes a BNC dynamic signal output for diagnostics.
Q: Is the probe gap for the 990-05-XX-01-00 MOD: 167577-07 still 0.5 to 1.75 mm?
A: Not necessarily. Since MOD 167577 changes the calibration curve, the DC Gap Voltage and physical gap must follow the dedicated calibration report rather than the standard 1.13 mm center-gap setting.
Q: Can a standard 990-05-50-01-00 or 990-05-70-01-00 directly replace the 990-05-XX-01-00 MOD: 167577-07 transmitter?
A: No. Direct replacement can cause major errors in the 4–20 mA vibration scaling, resulting in false alarms, missed alarms, or protection failures.
Q: Can the Test Input function still be used on the 990-05-XX-01-00 MOD: 167577-07 transmitter?
A: Yes. The Test Input remains available for injecting standard test signals and verifying 4–20 mA loop performance to the DCS or PLC.
Q: Are your products brand new?
A: Yes. We only supply 100% original and brand-new products. All items are sourced through authorized channels and have never been used or refurbished.
Q: Why can customers buy with confidence?
A: Because every product is backed by our 1-Year Warranty Guarantee of Quality, ensuring reliability, customer satisfaction, and long-term support after delivery.
Q: Do you provide international shipping?
A: Yes. We ship products to customers worldwide using reliable international logistics services such as EMS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx.
