The 990 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as the input to their machinery control system. The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5 m and 7 m system length options).

|
Prox out linear range |
1.4 mm (55 mils). Begins at approximately 0.25 mm (10 mils) from target surface |
|
Prox Out incremental scale factor |
7.87 mV/µm (200 mV/mil) ±6.5% typical including interchangeability errors when measured in increments of 0.25 mm (10 mils) over the linear range using a flat 30 mm (1.2 inch) target. Worst case 7.87 mV/µm ±10%. Typical Noise Level: 50 mV/pp |
|
4 to 20 mA loop accuracy |
Within ±1.5% over specified fullscale range. Accuracy is rated from the TEST signal input to the voltage measured across a 250 Ω loop resistance. The ±1.5% error is in addition to the Prox Out Incremental Scale Factor |
|
4 to 20 mA signal output |
4 to 20 mAdc over specified fullscale range in 2-wire configuration |
|
Zero and span |
Non-interacting external adjustments |
|
NOT OK/signal defeat |
Signal output will go to less than 3.6 mA within 100 µs after a Not OK condition occurs. Signal output is restored within 2-3 seconds after the Not OK condition is removed |
Feature
Integrated Proximitor Sensor requires no external unit
Non-isolated PROX OUT and COM terminals plus a coaxial connector to provide a dynamic vibration and gap voltage signal output for diagnostics
Non-interacting zero and span potentiometers under the Transmitter label supports loop adjustment
Test Input pin for quick verification of loop signal output, using a function generator as the input
A Not OK/Signal Defeat circuit prevents high outputs or false alarms due to a faulty proximity probe or loose connection
Protection and Safety Circuit (Not OK Circuit)
Built-in "Not OK" defect protection. When a cable breaks, the probe short-circuits, or the gap is severely exceeded (probe impact or detachment), the transmitter will automatically lock the loop current below 3.6 mA.
The control system (PLC/DCS) will recognize this low current and determine it as a "channel fault," effectively preventing false tripping and shutdown.
Technical FAQ
Q: What is the function of the “TEST” pin on the 990-10-XX-01-05 MOD:165353-01 transmitter panel?
A: It is a test input terminal. Field technicians can inject an AC signal using a function generator to verify 4–20 mA loop accuracy without removing or mechanically moving the probe.
Q: What are the linear measurement range and probe gap requirements for the 990-10-XX-01-05 MOD:165353-01 transmitter?
A: The proximity measurement range is 10–65 mils. The installation gap on AISI 4140 steel should be set between 0.5 mm and 1.75 mm (20–55 mils) to keep the bias in the center of the linear region.
Q: Can the 990-10-XX-01-05 MOD:165353-01 operate in high-temperature or condensation environments?
A: Yes. It uses a potted construction and can withstand up to 100% condensing humidity, provided the coaxial connector is properly sealed and insulated.
Q: How is calibration adjusted during maintenance for the 990-10-XX-01-05 MOD:165353-01 transmitter?
A: It includes independent Zero and Span potentiometers under the nameplate. These allow fine adjustment of the 4–20 mA output without interaction between the two settings.
Q: Are your products brand new?
A: Yes. We only supply 100% original and brand-new products. All items are sourced through authorized channels and have never been used or refurbished.
Q: Why can customers buy with confidence?
A: Because every product is backed by our 1-Year Warranty Guarantee of Quality, ensuring reliability, customer satisfaction, and long-term support after delivery.
Q: Do you provide international shipping?
A: Yes. We ship products to customers worldwide using reliable international logistics services such as EMS, DHL, UPS, and FedEx.
