ABB FEN-21 68679303 is a resolver interface that also provides a TTL encoder interface for compatible ABB drive systems. Its resolver connection accepts differential sine and cosine signals, while the TTL encoder connection accepts RS-422/485 differential signals on channels A, B and Z with a maximum 500 kHz signal frequency. ABB specifies resolver supply capability within an AC 4 to 12 V rms range and lists KTY84 or PTC support for the resolver thermistor input. This module must be selected from the actual installed feedback-device type, resolver or encoder wiring, supply requirement and compatible drive configuration.
For the TTL interface, ABB specifies selectable 5.5 V DC or 24 V DC encoder supply, documented current limits and a combined 3.6 W supply-power limit. The manual also lists TTL encoder emulation with a reference mark, a maximum 100 m emulation cable length and two 24 V DC digital position-latch inputs at X54. Resolver cable length is specified up to 100 m.
