The 3500 Encore Power Supplies are full height modules and must be installed in the specially designed slots on the left side of the rack. The 3500 Encore power supply works with the existing Power Input Module and transformer or DC input board within existing 3300 racks. The 3500 Encore Power Supplies accept a wide range of input voltages and converts them to voltages acceptable for use by other 3500 Encore modules.

Features
Retrofit for Legacy Systems: Installed in a dedicated slot on the far left of the 3500/05E instrumentation cabinet. It works directly with existing Power Input Modules (PIMs), transformers, or DC input boards in the 3300 rack, eliminating the significant work involved in re-laying power cables and modifying the cabinet backplane.
Status Indication and Self-Diagnosis: A green "Supply OK" LED indicator is present on the panel. This light remains constantly lit when the module detects that the DC voltage output to all monitoring modules within the rack (such as the 3500/42E vibration module and the 3500/23E interface module) is normal. An alarm will be triggered in case of overvoltage or hardware failure (some versions also have a red LED fault indicator).
Electromagnetic Compatibility and Safety: Built-in standard line noise filter, fully compliant with industrial-grade **EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) specifications and Low Voltage Directive (LVD) requirements. Its back typically features a hinged power protector to prevent accidental contact with exposed high-voltage terminals.
Key differences from the standard 3500/15 (do not confuse)
Height: The standard 3500/15 is a half-height module (two power supplies can be installed in one slot for redundancy); while the 3500/15E is a full-height module, occupying the entire height slot.
Redundancy mechanisms: Dual power supply redundancy is strongly recommended for the standard 3500 system; however, in the upgraded 3500 ENCORE rack (supporting in-situ modification of the 3300 frame), the dedicated space on the left side of the upgraded rack typically only supports the installation of a single power supply module and a single system monitor (TDI).

A: A single rack can accommodate a maximum of two power supply modules to provide dual redundancy. The lower slot serves as the primary power supply, while the upper slot serves as the backup power supply.
Q: Can the original Power Input Module (PIM) used with the Bently Nevada 3500/15E Power Supply Module be mixed with legacy 3500 power supplies?
A: No. The 3500/15E universal AC power supply and its corresponding PIM are not compatible with earlier-generation AC power supply modules or older PIM versions.

A: Yes. Whether operating as the primary or backup unit, any single 3500/15E module is designed to provide sufficient power for a fully populated rack and all installed monitoring modules.
