This discontinued ControlLogix 5560-family controller provides 2 MB of application memory and 478 KB of I/O memory for legacy 1756 systems.
The built-in communication interface is RS-232, while Ethernet and other industrial networks require a compatible chassis communication module; hardware series and firmware must be checked during service or migration.

Compatibility depends on the complete ordering code, installed hardware, wiring and approved engineering data.
It provides 2 MB for data and logic plus 478 KB dedicated to I/O data.
Its built-in interface is RS-232, so Ethernet communication requires a compatible network module in the chassis.
Series A hardware uses a 1756-BA1, whereas Series B hardware uses a 1756-BA2, so the series marking must be checked before service.
Series A requires RSLogix 5000 version 12.06.00 or later, while Series B requires version 13.04.00 or later.
Verify firmware compatibility, communication modules, memory handling, backplane loading, and application behavior before moving to a newer controller platform.
