1203-GU6 is an enhanced DeviceNet communications module for connecting a compatible SCANport product to a DeviceNet network.
The official manual specifies dual power requirements from SCANport and DeviceNet, DIN-rail mounting, defined environmental limits and a compact 45.7 × 76.2 × 127 mm enclosure.

1203-GU6 provides an enhanced DeviceNet interface for a compatible SCANport product, translating drive data into the configured DeviceNet node while retaining the limits of both interfaces.
1203-GU6 draws 130 mA at 12 V from SCANport and 60 mA at 24 V from DeviceNet, so both power sources must be available and correctly wired.
1203-GU6 must be configured with the correct DeviceNet node address, baud rate, I/O assembly, data links, and scanner mapping before the replacement can exchange the expected drive data.
1203-GU6 is a DeviceNet-to-SCANport module rather than an Ethernet device, so Ethernet connectors, addressing methods, and protocols must not be assumed from its enclosure.
