1746-BTM is a four-channel barrel temperature control module for thermocouple and low-level millivolt measurement in a compatible modular I/O chassis.
The official instructions list ten thermocouple types, plus or minus 50 mV and plus or minus 100 mV input ranges, channel-to-channel isolation, sigma-delta conversion and an 8 Hz channel bandwidth.
The module installs in any local I/O slot except slot 0 and requires terminal block 1746-RT32, careful low-level signal routing and verified chassis power capacity.

1746-BTM measures four isolated thermocouple or millivolt channels and supports barrel temperature control calculations in a compatible modular control application.
1746-BTM supports thermocouple types B, C, D, E, J, K, N, R, S and T plus input ranges of -50 to +50 mV and -100 to +100 mV.
The four 1746-BTM channels are isolated from the backplane and from one another, with an official 1000 V AC for 60 seconds isolation test.
1746-BTM draws 0.110 A from the 5 V DC backplane supply and 0.085 A from the 24 V DC backplane supply, so both values belong in the chassis power calculation.
1746-BTM can be installed in any local modular I/O chassis slot except slot 0 and requires the 1746-RT32 removable terminal block.
1746-BTM thermocouple wiring should be separated from relays and AC drives, use the correct extension wire and grounding practice, and preserve polarity, shielding and cold-junction arrangements.
A replacement request for 1746-BTM should include module series, chassis and slot, sensor types, configured ranges, terminal block, calibration status, program backup, quantity and destination.
