The 3500/50E Tachometer Module is a 2-channel module that accepts input from proximity probes or magnetic pickups (except as noted) to determine shaft rotative speed, rotor acceleration, or rotor direction, compares these measurements against user-programmable alarm setpoints, and generates alarms when these setpoints are violated.

Precautions
Regarding Sensor Selection: If selecting "Reverse Rotation" or "Zero Speed" mode, the use of ordinary passive magnetic pickups is strictly prohibited or not recommended. This is because magnetic sensors cannot provide sufficiently clear signals at extremely low speeds, leading to sharp edges and potential misjudgments. Eddy current proximity probes are recommended as the first choice.
Application Limitations: Bently officially states that the 3500/50E (including 50M) tachometer module should not be used independently as a standalone turbine control system for speed regulation or a dedicated emergency overspeed protection system. This is because it lacks the protection redundancy and extremely fast response speed required for dedicated overspeed systems (for dedicated independent overspeed protection, Bently's 3701/55 or similar dedicated emergency overspeed protection systems are typically used).
Signal Output and Interface
Buffered Outputs: The module front end provides a coaxial cable interface, outputting isolated raw buffered signals for each channel. Featuring short-circuit and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection, and an output impedance of 500 Ω, it facilitates connection to oscilloscopes or external diagnostic analyzers.
Keyphasor signal forwarding: The module can directly send its conditioned, precise keyphasor pulse signal to the backplane bus of the 3500 frame, allowing it to be shared by other vibration monitoring modules within the frame (such as the 3500/42M).
Technical FAQ
signals for the entire rack?
A: Yes. The conditioned pulse signal from the 3500/50E can be shared via the rack backplane bus as a Keyphasor signal to all vibration and position modules, optimizing rack slot utilization.
Q: What is the input signal voltage range of the 3500/50E module?
A: The input signal voltage range is +10.0 V to –24.0 V.
Q: Which LED indicator is illuminated during normal operation of the 3500/50E module?
A: The OK LED on the front panel is illuminated, indicating that the 3500/50E is operating normally.
Q: What is the typical power consumption of the 3500/50E module?
A: The typical power consumption is 4.75 W.
Q: What is the standard input impedance of the 3500/50E module?
A: The standard input impedance is 20 kΩ.
Q: How many sensor input channels can the 3500/50E module accept?
A: It can accept up to 2 channels of eddy current probe sensors or magnetic speed (magnetic pickup) sensor inputs.
Q: Are your products brand new?
A: Yes. We only supply 100% original and brand-new products. All items are sourced through authorized channels and have never been used or refurbished.
Q: Why can customers buy with confidence?
A: Because every product is backed by our 1-Year Warranty Guarantee of Quality, ensuring reliability, customer satisfaction, and long-term support after delivery.
