The fundamental differences between 3500/42M and 3500/42E
3500/42M: For standard 3500 systems (using the 3500/05 standard rack and 3500/22M TDI interface module).
3500/42E: Specifically designed for 3500 ENCORE systems (using the 3500/05E rack and 3500/23E TDI interface module). The physical form factor of the slots and the electrical communication interfaces on the backplane are completely different, and they cannot be cross-fitted.
Core Functions and Monitoring Types
Radial Vibration: Monitors the peak-to-peak relative runout of the journal within the bearing.
Thrust Position: Monitors the amount of runout in the thrust bearing to prevent rotor-stator collision.
Eccentricity: Used during the turning gear stage of large units to measure the relative thermal bending of the shaft.
Differential Expansion: Measures the relative expansion of the rotor and the cover during startup and shutdown.
