Foxboro FBM206 is an Eight-Channel Pulse Input Module for Foxboro I/A Series. Isolated high-speed pulse acquisition for speed, flow and similar field signals.
Pulse counting and rate measurement from compatible two-wire sensors. FBM206 has eight pulse inputs; FBM206b is a distinct four-input and four-analog-output variant.
FBM206 mounts on a DIN-rail or rack-mounted modular baseplate with a suitable termination assembly.

FBM206 has eight isolated two-wire pulse-input channels. The manufacturer lists applications including turbine and vortex meters, solid-state or electromechanical contacts, and similar pulse-output sensors.
Each FBM206 input is configurable for 7 to 27 V DC signals and accepts pulse rates up to 25 kHz. Confirm the sensor output and the selected input configuration before connecting it.
The pulse-input application provides configurable pulse-rate totalization, resolution and meter scaling factor. Set these from the actual meter or speed-sensor data and the approved control calculation.
No. FBM206 has eight pulse inputs, while FBM206b has four pulse inputs and four 0 to 20 mA analog outputs. Do not use the FBM206b output specification to order a standard FBM206.
Mount FBM206 on its modular baseplate and use a compatible termination assembly for local or remote field wiring. Select the TA and internal or external loop-power arrangement to match each sensor.
Check field polarity and input level, pulse count and rate at each channel, totalization and scaling, and communication over the redundant module Fieldbus. Compare the values with an approved reference signal.
Specify FBM206 rather than FBM206b, the complete module marking and revision, sensor types and pulse rates, TA/loop-power arrangement, baseplate and quantity.
