ABB RMBA-01 is a Modbus RTU adapter module for connecting compatible ABB drives to an RS-485 multidrop network. The adapter gives the Modbus master access to mapped drive control, reference, status and parameter data.
The official RMBA-01 manual specifies shielded twisted-pair RS-485, up to 31 stations per segment plus a repeater, a maximum segment length of 1200 m and selectable rates from 600 to 19200 bit/s.
Commissioning requires matching the station address, baud rate, parity, register mapping, termination and drive communication parameters. Preserve the installed cable shield and grounding practice when replacing the module.
