ABB RCNA-01 is a ControlNet adapter module for integrating a compatible ABB drive with a ControlNet control system. The adapter exchanges cyclic control and status data and supports parameter access through the configured network connection.
The RCNA-01 operates as an adapter device; the scanner establishes the connection. The module supports the Communication Adapter Profile 12 and allows configured I/O connections up to 450 bytes in each direction.
Before commissioning, verify the MAC ID, network media, requested packet interval, input and output assembly sizes, selected drive profile and the drive firmware. The RCNA-01 cannot be treated as the network scanner.

ABB RCNA-01 supports scheduled and unscheduled ControlNet data exchange with a compatible ABB drive. Confirm the project architecture, companion modules and remote-end equipment before replacement.
Check ABB RCNA-01 against the installed rack, slot, hardware revision, firmware, connectors, signal paths and approved project documentation.
Record the complete ABB RCNA-01 nameplate, module settings, cable destinations, channel allocation and engineering-file revision before removal.
Install ABB RCNA-01 only after isolating the equipment and verifying grounding, shielding, connector keys, rack position and all project-specific wiring.
