Triconex 3601E is a 16-point, non-commoned TMR digital output module for 115 VAC field circuits. Its recommended operating range is 80–155 VAC at 47–63 Hz. Each output is rated up to 2 A, with a documented 12 A surge per cycle, and uses AC switching suited to the specified frequency range.
The point fuse is rated 3 A fast acting, which does not raise the continuous 2 A output rating. Off-state leakage and voltage drop through the output, termination and cable must be included in the receiving-load calculation. The manufacturer lists a maximum diagnostic glitch of one-half AC cycle.
Check field power on every point, including unused points where the documented non-commoned termination arrangement requires it. Record fuse allocation, cable length, load behavior and output-voter diagnostic settings before replacement. Commissioning should prove commanded states and diagnostics with the actual approved load circuit.

Preserve individual field feeds, fuse allocation and output-voter diagnostics. Verify the AC load response and exact 3601E isolation rating before replacement.
The manual requires power at all points, including unused points, with the documented non-commoned termination arrangement. Missing field power can affect load/fuse diagnostics; wire unused points according to the approved termination drawing.
Not necessarily. The specified off-state load leakage is up to 2 mA at 60 Hz. Compare that leakage with the indicator release threshold and validate the complete circuit rather than assuming an open mechanical contact.
No. 3601E is the 115 VAC output variant. Its AC switching and frequency specification do not establish operation from a 115 VDC source.
No. The output limit is 2 A per point. The separate 3 A fast-acting fuse protects the field circuit and must not be treated as the semiconductor continuous-current rating.
Output-voter diagnostics can produce a disturbance up to one-half AC cycle. Review the configured diagnostics and the response of fast or sensitive loads before acceptance testing.
The module uses AC switching with zero-crossing behavior. A resistive bench lamp does not establish the behavior of every inductive or capacitive field load; verify the approved load and its transient demand.
No. The manual gives 3601E minimum isolation of 1000 VAC or 1500 VDC. Higher isolation values for a different suffix must not be copied into the 3601E specification.
The manufacturer separates backplane and cable-dependent on-state voltage drops. Calculate the complete output path at the intended current and confirm adequate load voltage at the far end.
