Triconex CM3201 is the Trident communication module marked 3201 in manufacturer documentation. It provides three isolated serial ports and two Ethernet ports for host, peer and engineering-station connections. A CM baseplate can hold two independently operating modules.
NET 1 is a 10 Mbps port using 10BaseT or an AUI-connected MAU; NET 2 is a 100 Mbps port using 100BaseTX or an MII-connected MAU. The serial interfaces support RS-232/485, with communication settings up to 115 kbps.
Record protocol roles and addresses before replacing a communication module. Restore the approved network and serial configuration, account for external media-interface power, and test each host and peer connection under the site integration procedure.

Preserve the CM configuration, host addressing, serial roles and network media. The 8 W module figure excludes external MAUs; keep their additional consumption in the power budget.
The manufacturer assigns 10 Mbps to NET 1 and 100 Mbps to NET 2. Preserve the stated speed and media requirements for each interface.
No. The table excludes MAUs and separately allows up to 6 W for a 10 Mbps AUI MAU or 3.75 W for a 100 Mbps MII MAU.
The modules operate independently. Redundant communication depends on the approved host/network configuration; simply fitting the second CM does not define that configuration.
Serial master operation uses RTU. Serial slave operation may use ASCII or RTU, so the master/slave role and framing must be set together.
The product guide lists a maximum of four. Confirm allocation and application requirements before commissioning the host connections.
The guide restricts DLC time synchronization to NET 1. Retain the documented port assignment when restoring that synchronization method.
The NET 2 external-media option uses MII. NET 1 uses AUI for its 10 Mbps MAU option; these media interfaces should not be interchanged.
No. The guide separately states no isolation between logic power 0 V and functional earth. Apply the relevant grounding specification rather than extending the serial-port isolation claim.
Send the model, complete part number, quantity, destination and nameplate photo. We will verify identification details before confirming availability and lead time.
